ABSCO SWEDISH FINISH FOR PROS
Absco Swedish Finish is a two-component, alcohol-based finish designed for use in high-traffic residential and commercial areas. Absco Swedish Finish is simple to apply and dries quickly (1 to 2 hours). In most applications only two coats are required; therefore, your floor finishing job can be easily completed in one day. Absco Swedish Finish is available in Super Matte, Matte and Semi-Gloss levels. Absco Swedish Crown can be used as a topcoat over Absco Swedish Finish after a 24 hour dry time. *See Absco Swedish Crown label for directions.
IMPORTANT: Carefully read all label wording on finish, lacquer thinner and/or denatured alcohol labels, as well as hardener containers.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Prepare the floor according to NWFA/NOFMA specifications. Natural finished floors should not be sanded finer than 100 grit sandpaper or screen. For stained floors: Sand and edge with 100 grit sandpaper then hand sand edges using 60 or 80 grit sandpaper. Vacuum the entire floor, as well as the adjoining areas. Floors can be tacked with a dry cotton cloth.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NOISH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. RE-COATING EXISTING FLOORS: Only recoat floors that have been previously coated with Absco Swedish Finish. All previous finishes, oils, wax, and other contaminants must be removed completely by sanding to bare wood. If sanding is necessary, trowel fill cracks in old floors to minimize possible contamination of the finish. Block off any direct sources of sunlight hitting the floor. Prior to applying Absco Swedish Finish, turn off all ignition sources including pilot lights, heaters, fans, and electrical equipment. Ventilate work and adjacent areas to prevent vapor build up. Vapors may travel and collect in confined and low areas such as basements. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Always wear a NIOSH/MSHA respirator approved for use with organic solvent vapors. DO NOT EAT, DRINK, OR SMOKE during application. DO NOT store in unlabeled bottles or other containers.
STAINING: Follow stain instructions and allow adequate drying time.
MIXING: Stir or shake well before adding Super Hardener to disperse finish evenly. Inspect bottom of container to ensure that all Finish is dispersed. Pour into an appropriate clean plastic application container. Slowly add Super Hardener from the graduated hardener container while stirring Absco Swedish Finish. If the correct amount of Super Hardener is not added, the Absco Swedish Finish will not cure. Stir in hardener for 60 seconds. Allow to stand for 5 to 10 minutes before applying. Stir occasionally during application. Mix enough product for only one coat.
