PoloPlaz NSB Waterborne Sealer
PoloPlaz NSB Sealer is a commercial grade, waterborne sealer designed for use on new floors requiring waterborne seal and finish. Finish manufacturers have always warned against waterborne products on new installations. The risk of panelization has always been too great… until now. When used properly, you can confidently apply NSB on new installations without the fear of damaging the wood from sidebonding and panelization.

DESCRIPTION: Waterborne sealer designed for residential, commercial, and gym floors.
PRECAUTIONS: To avoid spontaneous combustion, do not allow dust from abraded or sanded floors to accumulate in piles, trash cans, vacuum cleaners, etc. Never leave dust or shavings in any container inside a facility overnight. Do not use steel wool on seal, paint, or finish when using waterborne products. Low temp, high humidity, and heavy application will extend dry time. Store at room temp. Avoid freezing. If frozen, slowly return to room temperature without stirring, then stir once product has completely liquefied. Keep container tightly closed and upright when not in use to prevent leakage. Before using this product on new gym floors, consult PoloPlaz about the risk of side-bonding and panelization. Tools and spills may be easily cleaned up with water. Wash hands with soap and water after use.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Commercial/Residential Floors
Final screen with 120 or 150 grit and vacuum thoroughly. On raw wood, apply first coat of NSB with a T-bar @ 500 sf/gal. Product will soak in quickly. Allow first coat to dry 2 – 4 hrs. Apply second coat at same rate and allow to dry overnight. Next day, abrade with 3M SPPs with 180 grit disks. Vacuum floor and tack with towels lightly dampened with water. Allow to thoroughly dry before top coating with PoloPlaz finish. On stained floors, apply PoloPlaz stain according to instructions on stain label. Allow overnight dry. Next, apply two coats of NSB Sealer and allow 2 – 4 hrs dry time between coats. If applying second coat next day, abrade first coat with 3M SPPs with 180 grit disks.
Gym Floors
On new installs, apply a layer of felt paper over the sub-floor to prevent the maple floor from bonding to it. Install and sand maple according to MFMA procedures. Apply first coat of NSB with a T-bar @ 500 sf/gal. Product will soak in quickly. Allow first coat to dry 2 – 4 hrs. Apply second coat at same rate and allow to dry overnight. Next day, abrade with 150 grit screens or SPPs with 180 grit strips. Vacuum floor and tack with towels lightly dampened with water. Allow to thoroughly dry before taping and painting game lines (see instructions for PoloPlaz Paint). Apply third coat of NSB and once film has set up, ventilate adequately to remove excess moisture from the air. This will assist in the drying and curing process. Relative humidity inside facility should be below 70% before application of finish. Apply first coat of PoloPlaz finish per instructions on the finish containers.
