PoloPlaz Express Elite Guard 2K Waterborne Gym Finish Part A
PoloPlaz Express Elite Guard 2K Waterborne Gym Finish Part B
DESCRIPTION:
PoloPlaz Express Elite Guard is a high solids, low VOC (< 150 g/l), premium quality, commercial grade, 2K waterborne finish designed for professionals to recoat hardwood sports floors.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:
The mix ratio by volume is 1 Part B : 4 Parts A. Mix components together thoroughly. This is best achieved by removing lid from pail and pouring Part B slowly into Part A while stirring. Mix for 2 minutes. After mixing, let stand for a minimum of 20 minutes before applying. Be sure to replace the lid so that the pour spout is perpendicular to ears on the container.
PRECAUTIONS:
Do not apply if air, product, or floor temperature is below 70°F. Express Elite Guard will not cure properly in cold conditions. Discoloration of alkyd paints in the facility may occur if they were applied within one week of Express Elite Guard application. This would include game line paints and wall or structural paints. Express Elite Guard has a 16-hour pot life at 75°F (12 hours @ 85°F and 8 hours @ 95°F). Prevent spontaneous combustion: Do not allow dust from screened or sanded floors to accumulate in piles, trash cans, vacuum cleaners, etc. and never leave dust in any container inside a facility overnight. Do not allow excessive amounts of Express Elite Guard to dry on floor. Product that dries in puddles or divots may appear white when dried. Heavy application may become cloudy or yellowish when dried. Ventilate area to prevent solvent rain back. Do not apply if humidity is above 70% in facility. Do not use steel wool when using this product. Low temp, high humidity and heavy application may extend dry time. On lengthy jobs, change T-bar applicator after 1 1/2 hours to prevent finish from setting up on applicator. Do not place rugs on floor for one week. Store at room temperature. Avoid freezing. If frozen, slowly return to room temperature without stirring, then stir once product has completely liquefied. Discard waste according to local government regulations. Not for exterior application.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Thoroughly clean floor with PoloPlaz Tie Tack or PoloPlaz Court Care Cleaner. Abrade floor with 180 grit 3M™ Hookit II™ discs attached to 3M™ surface prep pads (SPP) until completely deglossed. The key to a successful recoat is to achieve a smooth surface on which to apply the top coat. If the original floor is rough or has imperfections (badly scratched, divots, chipping and peeling, swirl marks etc.) a clear coat is never going to cover such imperfections. To achieve the smooth surface, it may be necessary to abrade more aggressively first, then abrade again using the 180 grit 3M™ Hookit™ II discs on 3M™ SPPs. Vacuum dust and then tack floor with water-dampened towels until clean (no mineral spirits). Eliminate direct air drafts during application of Express Elite Guard. Apply with a lightweight T-bar @ 400-500 sq.ft./gallon with no pressure to handle. Express Elite Guard will appear white when applied but will dry clear. Do not leave puddles to dry on floor as they will not cure properly and could remain white. Recoat time is 2-4 hours. Resume air flow upon exiting the facility. Floor may be returned to service 24 hours after coating has completely dried (min. temp of 75°F & 50% RH or less, and adequate air exchange is maintained during curing).
