Absco Pro Select Polyurethane Floor Finish – Satin
ABSCO is the #1 choice for high quality floor finishes for wood. Manufactured from the highest quality ingredients available today, PRO SELECT will provide many years of beauty and durability on all wood floor applications. PRO SELECT will not chip or wear and applies easily, leaving a beautiful “like new” finish.
SURFACE PREPARATION: New Wood or Newly Sanded Floors: Prepare the floor according to the NWFA or NOFMA accepted manner. Make several passes with the sandpaper, increasing the paper fineness with each pass. The final pass before application of PRO SELECT should be with a #100 grit screen disc or sandpaper. Remove dust completely by sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping the floor with a lint free cloth lightly dampened with mineral spirits. The floor and room temperature should be at least 65 degrees F.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Previously Finished Floors: Remove old finish in poor condition completely. All wax, grease, soaps, and dirt must be removed thoroughly. For floors in good condition, screen the floor with #120 to #150 Screen disc, or #180 grit sandpaper. Remove dust completely by sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping the floor with a lint free cloth lightly dampened with mineral spirits.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
APPLICATION: Apply PRO SELECT with a roller, lamb’s wool applicator, brush, or T-bar going with the grain of the wood. For best results, apply 2 coats of PRO SELECT polyurethane over 1 coat of Absco SealGuard or universal sealer. Stir Satin and Semi-Gloss Finish well prior to and during application. Do not shake container as this will create air bubbles. For maximum durability, PRO SELECT should be applied to raw wood since the finish coat will only be as durable as the undercoat. Flow on a uniform, even coat of PRO SELECT. PRO SELECT dries in about 4-6 hrs., depending upon airflow, and may be re-coated after 12 hrs. This product is designed to be used directly from the can without thinning under normal environmental and application conditions. Keep can closed when not in use.
