NEW! Absco RED X Pro Red Blocker is a one-step waterborne formula designed to block the red and pink tones of certain wood species, especially red oak, to help mimic the look of white oak flooring. RED X Pro is not a bleach, but a low odor, quick drying waterbased formula that can be used as a blocker to help achieve lighter wood tones and is compatible with all Absco products. RED X Pro works with many red-toned wood species such as red oak or cherry.

Absco Red X Pro Red Blocker is a one-step waterborne formula designed to block the red and pink tones in red oak giving it the look of a raw white oak floor. Red X Pro is not a bleach, but a low odor, quick drying water-based formula that can be used as a blocker to help achieve lighter wood tones without red and is compatible with all Absco products.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Proper surface preparation is essential to achieve a high-quality finish. Sand floors according to NWFA / NOFMA standards for a stained floor.
INSTRUCTIONS: On raw finish sanded wood, apply Red X Pro with a 3/8-inch microfiber roller or a lightweight T-bar @ 400 – 450 sf/gal. Allow to dry 2 – 3 hrs. DO NOT water pop before applying Red X Pro. Only ONE COAT of Red X Pro is needed. A second coat will result in a light green floor.
NATURAL: Do not abrade the coat of Red X Pro. For a light natural look, apply 1 coat of a clear water-based finish such as Absco Solo Pro, Grand Clear 1K or Platinum 2K directly over Red X Pro. Abrade the 1st finish coat with a 180 or 220 sanding strip. Apply additional finish coats as needed.
STAIN: Only pastel colors such as grays, whites and beiges will work properly. Always do a test area. When staining over Red X Pro it is important to follow the following steps: 1. Be sure to apply Red X Pro evenly in the room as well as the whole project. 2. When applying stain over Red X Pro, be sure to clean up all residual stain. We recommend buffing with a clean carpet pad or terry cloth bonnet. 3. Allow stain to dry thoroughly (24 hours If needed). 4. When the stain has dried, buff the floor evenly with a maroon pad while being cautious not to buff through to bare wood. 5. Vacuum and tack floor. 6. Apply 1 coat of a clear water-based finish such as Absco Solo Pro, Grand Clear 1K or Platinum 2K directly over Red X Pro. Abrade the 1st finish coat with a 180 or 220 sanding strip. Apply additional finish coats as needed.
APPLICATION: When applying Absco products over a stain, make sure that the stain has dried properly. Check the directions on the stain package, as different brands will have different drying times. Most oil-based stains would require a minimum of 24 hours before top coating.
DRYING TIME: When applied according to directions, Red X Pro should be dry in 2 – 3 hours. Heavy application, high humidity, or lack of air flow will extend drying times.
COVERAGE: 400 – 450 sq. feet per gallon.
CLEAN-UP: Use warm water to clean brushes and applicators. Dispose of applicators properly. NEVER reuse an applicator to avoid cross contamination. Wash hand with warm water when completed. Refer to SDS for safety and handling information.
